The special meeting of the City of Scotland was called to order by Council President Randy Thum at 5:53pm on Monday, March 21, 2022. The following council members answered to roll call: Randy Abbink, Tim Asche, Dennis Bietz, and Sean Barrett. Those council members absent were Jerry Nelson. Others present were Finance Officer Tanya Bult, Brian Humphrey, and Curtis Hofer (phone).
A motion was made by Bietz, second by Asche to approve the agenda. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Asche, second by Bietz to declare the magazine rack and bleacher planks surplus. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Abbink, second by Barrett to enter into executive session at 5:55pm for Personnel as per SDCL 1-25-2 Sub (1). All voted in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Abbink, second by Barrett to come out of executive session at 6:44pm with the following action taken. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Bietz, second by Abbink to hire Corrinna Wagner as a police officer full-time at a salary of $50,000/year plus benefits with a 45 hour work week. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Abbink, second by Bietz to hire Myles Runyon as a police officer part-time at $17.50 per hour. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
With no further business to discuss a motion was made by Asche, seconded by Bietz to adjourn the meeting at 7:03pm. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
