The Library Board meeting was called to order by Kristyn Walloch at 7:02pm on Monday, February 28, 2022. The following board members were present Dennis Bietz, Rachel Starwalt, Damon Mogck, Nick Smith, and Kim Abbink. Those board members absent were JoAnn Gemar. Others present were Michelle Kass and Tanya Bult.

A motion was made by Starwalt, second by Bietz to approve the November meeting minutes. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Statistics - December 2021 monthly statistics report was explained and reviewed.

Treasurer Report - No report was given as Mogck has not received the documents.

Library Board Updates - None at this time.

City Library Director Updates - Staff goals is to hold at least two crafts/ events per month. Story time is going well however we have had to cancel a few times due to last minute reader illnesses. The daycare has not been venturing out every Friday due to the cold and safety of the little ones. All staff is signed up for the jump start reading program workshops. Billie Jo Hays and Tanya Bult are signed up for library institute in June. Bult is working on the annual report which is due at the end of March.

School Librarian Updates - Reading count and non-reading count books have been integrated. They were out of number order and Kass has finished the organizing task. She has been weeding out old books and processing new books from the book fair and junior library guild. PT conferences will be held on the 3rd of March. Kass will be in the library all evening so city library staff would not be necessary.

Check-Out Policy for New Technology Update - After a brief discussion it was suggested to see if Mr. Brunke would be willing to make up a possible check list for review once the device was returned to the library.

Board Member Terms - Gary Pepper has reached his term limit and thanked for his years of service. Nick Smith has agreed to fill the open city trustee position. Kim Abbink and Kristyn Walloch have one term remaining and have agreed to continue to serve on the board. A motion was made by Bietz, second by Starwalt to approve the library board trustee updates. All voted in favor. Motion carried.  

Election of Officers:
President - A motion was made by Smith, second by Bietz to nominate JoAnn Gemar as board President. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Vice President - A motion was made by Bietz, second by Abbink to nominate Kristyn Walloch as board Vice President. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Treasurer - A motion was made by Bietz, second by Smith to nominate Damon Mogck as Treasurer. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Training/Webinars - Bult stated that Gemar had requested this to be added to the agenda. A brief discussion was had regarding continuing education hours for accreditation this fall. Topic was tabled to next meeting.

Address Public Concerns - No public concerns at this time.

Next meeting date is set for Monday, May 23, 2022 at 7pm.

With no further business to discuss a motion was made by Smith, second by Bietz to adjourn the meeting at 7:26pm. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
