The Library Board meeting was called to order by President JoAnn Gemar at 7:18pm on Monday, August 29, 2022. The following board members were present Rachel Starwalt, Kristyn Walloch, and Kim Abbink. Those board members absent were Damon Mogck, Dennis Bietz, and Nick Smith. Others present were Michelle Kass and Tanya Bult.
The May minutes were reviewed.
Second quarter monthly statistics were reviewed.
Treasurer Report - No formal report was given but the balance remains the same as the May meeting.
No Library Board updates at this time.
City Library Director Updates - Nothing new to report at this time. Bult was asked about a donation check from the Bargain Shoppe. No check has been received since starting at the library last October.
School Librarian Updates - The school year is off to a great start. Kass explained that foot traffic will increase through the library as she has taken on additional school secretary duties.
Library Site Visit - Laura Kelly from the state library visited the library back in June to complete a site visit. Her follow up report with resources was reviewed with the following main topics: creating a welcoming space, increase teen and adult patron visits, limited wifi/technology plan, and continuing education course suggestions.
No public concerns at this time.
Next meeting date is set for Monday, November 28, 2022 at 7pm.
With no further business to discuss a motion was made by Abbink, second by Walloch to adjourn the meeting at 7:54pm. All voted in favor. Motion carried.
